Main Street is the primary thoroughfare of Coquille, winding all the way out from the interstate to the riverside docks. It has several tributaries leading everywhere in Coquille, though that's not saying much considering the size of the hamlet. The main feature of Main Street is definitely City Hall, but there are several other interesting places to visit.
Most of the shops and boutiques of Coquille are found along Main Street. Patrick Hermann's electronic repair shop lies towards the outskirts of town, flanked by a laundry mat and a quaint little Mexican restaurant. Several other restaurants, including a wonderful seafood joint on the edge of the river, lend Main Street its colloquial nickname of "Restaurant Row."
Across the street from City Hall lays the beautiful Main Street Park, where children can play on playground equipment or play soccer on the field. A small pond is filled with friendly ducks always eager to score some bread from passersby. Gazebos provide park visitors a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the scenery. Many outdoor weddings are held in the park during the mild months. A plaza next to the Piedmont Center for the Art is the perfect place for independent artists to show their latest works.
Main Street holds a number of stores, both corporate franchises and Mom and Pop shops. Clothing boutiques and hobby stores sit next to a small Pizza Hut and national drugstore franchise. A small dojo catering to self defense and Oriental martial arts is even available to the citizens of Coquille. A fairly large sized nursery provides gorgeous landscaping and exotic flora that attracts gardeners from all over Oregon.
