Coquille Valley Hospital provides the citizens of Coquille and its rural residents with quality healthcare and hospitalization. The hospital resides on the north side of Coquille on Huntington Street and has a wonderful rear view of the Coos river. Coquille Valley Hospital is also the only building in Coquille that features a multilevel parking structure, though it's only two stories.
Coquille Valley Hospital features a few doctor's offices ranging from general practice to pediatrics, but more specialized fields such as oncology are handled by big city hospitals. There is roughly a dozen patient recovery rooms, with only one operating theater. A fairly large and well-stocked laboratory allows Coquille Valley to operate fairly independently for running tests and diagnostics. The laboratory was a gift from Jeremy Waincott, a Coquille citizen who made it big in Seattle's real estate market. Mr. Waincott felt that giving back to his community was of high importance to his continued good fortune.
An emergency room is attended 24-hours by ER doctors and surgeons, with patients transported by three EMS vehicles. Considering the economy of Coquille is almost entirely supported by the logging industry, the ER sees a fairly high population of patients. The ER is staffed by some of the best intensivists in Oregon, so the lumberjacks of Coquille are taken care of by the best and brightest. For those unfortunate individuals that don't make it, the morgue resides in the only subterranean floor of Coquille Valley. The morgue is actually the county morgue for Coos county, and is attended by the sheriff of Coos as well as a staff coroner.
