Greetings ladies, gentlemen, and all those things in between,
I would like to welcome you to my own little slice of Proboards. I am not sure how you have happened upon this forum, whether through a reference from a member, my own personal coercing, or dumb luck. Regardless of the journey that brought you here, I am glad to have you perusing through the forum.
I would like to shortly summarize the entirety of this board here so that you can have a general idea of what you're dealing with. In short, Nightbreed is an eponymous RP (that's roleplaying) board based off of Clive Barker's novella Cabal and it's film adaptation Nightbreed, as well as the subsequent comic book series by the same name. If you have not read or watched any of this source material, I highly recommend it to you. It's a truly unique and amazing experience; thus the genesis of this forum.
In this forum we will be attempting to continue onwards with the tale of the Nightbreed. As such, we will take on the roles of the monstrous Nightbreed, the ignorant Naturals, or the crafty Familiars in order to tell our own story, weaving it into the fabric of Mr. Barker's remarkable universe. The time is 1990, over a year since the fall of Midian, and the place is Coquille, a sleepy logging town in west Oregon. One of the Baptized, Cassiel, has established a safe haven for the Nightbreed below a local cemetery. Other Nightbreed, seeking safety in numbers and much needed sanctuary, flock to Cassiel's Undercroft. Here the creatures of the night are given succor for naught but their discretion, obedience, and communal support. Beneath the hallowed Earth of Willowrest Cemetery, the Nightbreed await the great Cabal, prophesied to heal Baphomet but bringing together the pieces of the diety's body. Cassiel holds such a piece and guards it with his life and power. The other Nightbreed support him in his holy quest as they try to live a normal life; well, normal by the Breed's standard.
I invite all of those interested in a mature, engaging, and fun roleplaying experience to sign up immediately. Join me in telling the tale of these misunderstood and msibegotten monsters. It will be a wonderful experience, I can promise you that, and it'll only get better with more players!
