The holiest of places for the Nightbreed is perennially bathed in the cool flickering blue light of the arcane torches ensconced on the slick stone walls. A great mosaic floor holds a thousand images portraying the ancient history of the Tribes of the Moon. The great circular mausoleum is covered by the vaulted ceiling, where an eldritch painting of the night sky dances and swirls by artistic and supernal brilliance. The small alcoves hold the resting dead, as well as the dozens of phylacteries of Cassiel. A giant stone tablet, the Covenant Stones, list the Laws of Cassiel. These tenets are to be followed by all who seek sanctuary in the Undercroft.
Above the Tabernacle floor, a mezzanine holds a great pulpit and a fountain. In the found resides the great femur of Baphomet, its cleansing blood boiling from the ragged fractures at both ends. From this entresol, Cassiel the Baptized preaches his sermons about the coming up Cabal and the reformation of Baphomet.
The Tabernacle is protected by powerful runes and words of power that keep violence from occurring in its hallowed walls. It stands as a sanctum to Cassiel, who wields unabated power while in its confines. Cassiel uses this power to heal the Nightbreed and to divine the future. From the golden disc in the center of the Tabernacle, Cassiel can project his thoughts anywhere in Coquille, even into the dreams of sleeping Naturals. He uses this this power to keep them from exploring into the cemetery and uncovering the Nightbreed's sanctuary.
Under the mezzanine lies a rough hew archway that leads deep beneath the Tabernacle. Here reside the Berserkers, the Nightbreed so maddened by their hunger they can no longer reason. They are kept locked away for the safety of all, kept in reserve until they are needed as shock troopers to defend the Nightbreed. There monstrous bellowing can be heard in the dank quiet of the Tabernacle, especially when the moon is full.
