The Baker Street Cinema House is a refurnished theater from the early 50's. Laughably small when compared to the megaplexes of the big city, the Cinema House has much better maintenance than any theater in Oregon. This is because the owners of the theater are a commune of film fanatic college students, who took on the theater as a masters project. They take excellent care of the Cinema House, and their affection for the old theater shows through.
The main lobby features a topnotch vintage concession stand where patrons can get all the classic cinema snacks. Every Wednesday, the Cinema House hosts a dinner and a movie special where full meals are served to viewers as they watch classic cinema all evening. The main theaters are fairly large, but are miniscule when compared to the stadium seating of other theaters. Still, the cushy and luxurious seats are absolutely divine, and what's more the floor is never sticky.
Patrons waiting for the next showing can enjoy a topnotch arcade with classic pinball machines, stand up arcade cabinets, and air hockey tables. While the arcade does feature some newer arcade games, the owners pride themselves on their refurbished classics like Pacman and Galaga. The real center piece though is a Tales from the Crypt pinball machine that is played so often than the theater must run maintenance on the machine once a week.
The only real complaint that patrons have with the Cinema House is the lack of parking. The only real parking is on Baker Street, right out in front of the theater. This means most folks have to walk to the theater or ride their bikes. There is an extremely long bike trellis for these pedestrians right out in front of the theater, lined against the walls displaying movie posters. The theater plans on purchasing the land in back of the theater. However, they have loftier plans for the space than a mere tarmac parking lot. The Baker Street Cinema House plans on putting in a drive in movie lot, much to the joy of bored teenagers in Coquille.
